Honda Lock Intern: “If Others Can Do It, So Can I”

Honda Lock Interns: A Journey of Determination and Growth

Today, we want to share the journey of 32 male Honda Lock interns. These are stories of resilient, lively young men who never miss the chance to fill the atmosphere with laughter and cheerful tales during their visa information session, embodying the spirit of their youthful age.

Exactly six months and twelve days since receiving their acceptance notification, the 32 male Honda Lock interns received their residency permits. On October 13, 2018, they gathered at Hai Phong headquarters to complete their visa documentation.

The radiant faces of the 32 Honda Lock interns lit up the visa session on October 13.

Finally, the long-awaited day is near — the day they hold their tickets to board a plane to Japan. Their dreams and efforts are on the verge of becoming a reality.

32 Interns — 32 Stories

These young men came together at Hai Phong Training Center, sharing experiences and learning from teachers and friends. Each of them embodies the determination to “conquer Japan” to the fullest.

Vu Manh Hung, born in 1997, studied Automotive Technology at Hanoi Vocational College of High Technology. Coming from a family of seven siblings in Yen Bai with significant financial hardships, Hung was determined to succeed on his first attempt—and he did.

Hoang Dinh Hau, Hung’s classmate, used all the money he had saved from part-time jobs during university, supplemented by loans, to gather the 50 million VND required for the deposit and advance payment. “After my father passed away, I didn’t want my mother to struggle, so I found a way to manage on my own,” Hau said.

Hau shared, “After gaining experience and training in Japan, I hope to return to Hanoi Vocational College and contribute. I love this environment dearly.”

“Time Feels Precious at Hai Phong, and I Value My Family More”

Reflecting on their six-month training at Hai Phong Training School, the interns unanimously agreed they had matured significantly.

“At first, life at school was a complete upheaval. It felt restrictive and suffocating, but I got used to it. I learned so much here, from greetings and Japanese etiquette to the Japanese language itself,” Hau recounted.

Hau admitted, “Being at Hai Phong made me realize how valuable time is. I tried to make the most of every moment to study. It also made me cherish the time with my family more. I’ve changed completely since coming here; I now have a purpose in life.”

For Nguyen Van Quang, the program transformed his habits: “I used to spend nights playing games till morning. But since joining the Honda Lock program, even after studying till 10 PM as per the school’s schedule, I pushed myself to study until 2 AM.”

“My Journey to Hai Phong Was Quick and Intense”

Hoan Ngoc Dam, from Ha Tinh, a graduate of Vietnam-Germany Vocational College, discovered Hai Phong’s recruitment program by chance. After failing to qualify for another program in January 2017, Dam was disheartened but never gave up on his dream of going to Japan.

In early 2018, he visited a friend’s house and noticed a Hai Phong business card on the table. He researched online and asked his friends about it. After the Lunar New Year, Dam returned to work in Dong Nai. However, upon learning about Honda Lock’s recruitment, he immediately quit his job to apply.

The 23-year-old shared, “I didn’t want to miss another opportunity. I decided to quit my job and quickly flew to Hanoi to complete the application process. Thankfully, I passed.”

Despite being resilient, Dam confessed that the first days at Hai Phong were overwhelming due to the strict schedule that upended his nocturnal lifestyle. However, he adapted within two weeks.

“If others can do it, so can I,” Dam said confidently. “I want to go to Japan to learn the Japanese work ethic. My decision to join Hai Phong was quick, but the journey here has enriched my experience and taught me invaluable lessons.”

Hai Phong’s Gratitude and Encouragement

Hai Phong extends heartfelt thanks for the efforts of all the interns. We wish you good health, determination, and optimism. Your departure for Japan is just around the corner!
